Team Running for Cover is running the 2013 Boston Marathon to raise funds to support MFNE's mission of education, prevention and support.
Since its inception in 2006, Running for Cover has raised over $1 million to support MFNE. I am thirlled to be a part of this team for the 2013 Boston Marathon.
You may or may not know my connection with melanoma. My uncle, Ronald Dupont, passed away due to complications from melanoma in 2004. This was hard because my uncle was my father figure in my life and such an amazing man as well as my mother's only brother. He is greatly missed by so many.
On a closer note, I was diagnosed with melanoma in June of 2000. It was by the grace of God that I was diagnosed early and we were able to get it all in surgery. I have been melanoma-free ever since.
It is so important that our youth understand that skin cancer is REAL and it CAN KILL YOU!
The Melanoma Foundation of New England is dedicated to getting that message out there. Early detection truly, TRULY, saved my life.
I am so excited to run the Boston Marathon for this charity. I would not be running for any other organization and I am doing this for my uncle, for me, for my children and for yours.
Help me cross the finish line by donating to my fundraising efforts. Together we can help reduce the incidents of melanoma in the New England area.
Even $5.00 can make a difference. :) Thank you for your time in reading this and thank you in advance for your generosity for this great cause.
