Please help MAPR help Buddy get a life saving operation on his liver!

Hi-yee! My name is Buddy! I am with MAPR because my original mom didn't have time for me. Even tho that's kinda sad, I am in a great foster home and I am a happy, hyper, young pug. I love walks (I barely let my foster mom put the leash on me because I'm so excited to go!!). I also love playing, chewing on bones and napping next to my foster mom (or in her laundry basket)! Most of all, I love to be with people and when I can't be with them, I enjoy the company of my good friend and fellow pug, Frank. We snuggle...but don't tell anybody cause I'm supposed to be a tough guy!

Now, the one thinng I don't like to tell people about me is that I'm extremely sick. I was born with a genetic condition called a portosystemic shunt. This is basically where a blood vessel allows blood to bypass my liver so my blood does not get fully cleansed by my liver like it does in normal dogs. This is really bad for my body and surgery is the only thing that will help me. Without it, I probably won't live to see six years old. My doctor tells me that the success rate for my surgery is really good and that once I have this bummer surgery, I will be 100% normal and I will live a long and healthy life. Best of all, two months after surgery I can start eating normal food. Right now I am on this prescription food that has very low protein- and even lower taste- so I am super skinny (and I hear that skinny pugs just aren't normal?).

I really want to feel good again! My foster mom tells me that the good volunteers and friends of MAPR want to help me get better but my surgery and related expenses will cost MAPR close to $5,000!!!! I feel bad because there are a lot of dogs out there and MAPR wants to help them but they need help from you to be able to afford to help me. Will you help by donating to my surgery fund? If you do, I promise I'll eat someone's socks or underwear in your honor! Seriously tho, I am worth it! Don't you think? If you do, please donate to my surgery fund today!

Gotta run...I see a sock on the floor that looks tasty and I gotta get it before my foster mom catches me! Byeee!!

P.S. The MAPR people told me to tell you that you can also become one of my angels by donating thru Paypal. Just visit the link below and scroll down until you see my handsome mug and bio and then click the "donate" button next to my information. http://www.midatlanticpugrescue.org/rescues.html
