Bringing Shani Home
Cathy Anderson fundraising for EUROPEAN CHILDREN ADOPTION SERVICES
Our goal is to finalize our adoption of Shani by the end of the summer of 2012
Hi, we are Cathy and Dave. We are very thankful for the blessings that God has given us! What we are most grateful for is family. Last year he gave us our son Justin. This year he is giving us another son, Shani. We have heard so much about Shani from Justin, but really nothing could prepare us for meeting him and spending time with him ourselves. Shani has a smile that is as warm as the summer sun on the Fourth of July. His laugh is like the sound of one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes. He has such a beautiful singing voice and he loves to share it, along with his love of hip-hop and break-dancing. Justin and Shani have been inseparable. It is inspiring to see Justin look out for his brother. It is fun to watch our boys play video games and soccer, too. We know that when Shani starts school and needs help adjusting, that his older brother will be there for him. We are both very grateful and thankful to be able to share our boys’ story with you. It is wonderful that our boys have brought all of us together as an extended family. Thank you for your encouragement and support. We ask that you would continue to pray for us and if Shani’s story has compelled you, we would like to invite you to help us bring him home to join our forever family.
Shani is currently in an orphanage in Kiev, Ukraine. We were blessed to be able to have him in our home for 3 weeks in January 2012. Since then, we have completed our homestudy and we are in the process of completing the INS Homeland Security application which will then approve us for fingerprinting. If all goes well (God willing), we are hoping to travel to Kiev in the summer to finalize the adoption and bring him home.
Thank you and blessings to you all!!!
