A project of GOALS
I'm excited for my upcoming wilderness raft trip with GOALS (Get Outside And Learn Something)!
During the 2012 river season, kids from three schools in my district will be heading out on multi-day river trips. While we're in the canyons, we will disconnect from our video games and connect with one another. We'll push ourselves, take healthy risks, and grow both physically and mentally while exploring the desert wilderness. While paddling through some of North America's most beautiful canyons, we'll study the GOALS curriculum that incorporates academics, outdoor skiils, environmental stewardship, and interpersonal awareness.
In order to make these river programs available to ALL interested students, GOALS is hosting a duck race on the river that flows through our community. The goal is to help each student raise the money we need for our trips in Ruby, Desolation, and Cataract Canyons, and and I appreciate your assistance in helping me reach my goal.
