We have been feeling the pull to serve on a mission trip together for a while. Now we are taking the leap and letting God lead us to Haiti.
As we approached the New Year, Brent and I decided to make a resolution as a family. We discussed a few things we would like to accomplish and realized it could all be summarized as, “We want to be more generous.” We want to become more generous with our time, our money and our resources. We want 2013 to be a year where we can embody the hands and feet of Christ to friends, family and strangers alike. We want 2013 to be the year that defines the life our son will lead. A life full of giving, loving and serving; not with a burdened heart, but with a joyful one.
We have been so incredibly blessed and it is time we focus less on ourselves and more on others. A major part of this resolution (or “life-change” as we prefer to call it) is going to serve abroad as a couple. Brent and I will be taking our first international mission trip to Haiti in October, the 19th -26th, to serve with Mission Lazarus and our church, Crosspoint Community Church.
Since the trip is quite a ways out at this point, we haven’t started having our meetings detailing our trip, but I do know that these trips typically spend quite a bit of time serving young children and babies. The goal of Mission Lazarus is “to raise up the future of the church and the future of Haiti in a comfortable facility providing them with excellence in both spiritual and secular education.” (You can read more on their website, http://haiti.missionlazarus.org.)
The cost of both Brent and me to attend this trip is $3,300. As you can imagine, this is quite an intimidating amount of money especially for a family currently on one full-time income. In order to reach our financial goal, we need your support. We will need our friends, family and even strangers to support us with financial donations as well as prayers as we move forward on our journey.
Here are three specific ways you can help our mission:
We thank you whole-heartedly in advance for your generosity and prayers. We know there are many causes to support and it means so much for you to take the time to support ours. Thank you for helping us go and love.
Much love and God’s blessings,
Robin & Brent Kee
