C.O.P.S. was not around when my dad, Patrolman Clifton Miller, died when I was very young.

When I found out about C.O.P.S., I knew this organization was the missing link. It could have been the difference between the 6 of us Miller kids growing up isolated -- we were the only kids who had a dead police officer dad -- and bonding with others just like us. C.O.P.S. could have helped us navigate the grieving process, quit blaming ourselves, and learn to live again.

Having attended National Police Week multiple times, and Adult Childrens' Retreat, I know the value of meeting and mentoring other survivors of law enforcement line of duty death. I walk to help C.O.P.S. maintain and grow healing retreats, to help those after me find their way with the assistance of others who have been down this path.
