Testimonial

Since my daughter Maya’s brain injury, BIS has helped me understand and facilitate the Medicaid waiver my daughter needed to help me care for her at home. The waiver helped us financially with Maya’s frequent hospitalizations and doctor visits. BIS has helped facilitate my daughter’s physical rehab and was able to get Maya started sooner rather than later due to the long wait list. I have also learned how to better understand my daughters IEP (Individualized Education Program) and learned strategies of what and how to ask questions for services she needs to help her at school. Through the BIS Pediatric Program’s Annual Picnic, I have met several families coping with the affects of different degrees of brain injury. BIS also has held several fun filled activities which my daughter and her sisters enjoyed. My daughters are looking forward to upcoming activities. Jen, mother of Maya, 8 years old.

Happy 10th Anniversary Child & Adolescent Program!

There are many worthy organizations vying for donations. This one is exceptional. It does its job with a minimum of administrative expenses. It is focused on helping individuals and families where there is scant help from others.
