I grew up doing speech and debate and there is no doubt that it made a profound impact on my life. After graduating from college I started to volunteer at a local high school coaching their team and I have sincerely enjoyed watching our students grow and mature. I am constantly impressed with the success of the students on our team after graduation. There is no doubt that speech and debate is giving them an “I can” attitude and the skills they need to excel professionally. When I ran across information for the Boston Debate League Marathon team I was so excited to see that there was an organization pushing to get debate into inner-city Boston schools. I know that this will make such a profound impact on the students’ lives so I want to help out!
