About the event: The HALO Foundation Boardbreakathon is an exciting event challenging participants to be Champions for the World. Participants learn about what it is like to be an orphan in need and raise funds to support them in breaking as many boards as they can in 30 seconds. The HALO Boardbreakathon has raised over $100,000 for children in need around the world. Join us in helping us reach our goal of $20,000 to give a chance to a child in need. The event will take place at Kids2Leaders Martial Arts, 1737 NE Rice Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64086. To learn more about The HALO Foundation, visit www.haloworldwide.org
A story of victory: Samson is an example of a child who has been helped by funds raised at the Boardbreakathon. He came to the HALO orphanage in Timau, Kenya 2 years ago. He and his brother Wilson had just lost their single mother to AIDS. He was extremely malnourished and dehydrated, not to mention mourning the death of his mother. Now, Samson likes to be called "Jambo Nene" which means Big Hero because he says he feels strong. He has a reputation of eating every bite on his plate and asking for more. Samson loves being with his brother in the home. They have 26 other "brothers" they share life with and they love playing soccer after school. Help us reach our goal of improving the lives of more children in need by sponsoring a participant! Visit www.haloworldwide.org to read more stories about the children of The HALO Foundation. HALO supports 13 orphanages and programs internationally and domestically combined.
