The money you donate goes directly to AuSM programs here in Minnesota and will help kids on all levels of the spectrum.

Many of you know that our 5 year old daughter Aleks was diagnosed with autism 2 1/2 years ago.

At that time she couldn't have a conversation with you because her little brain couldn't comprehend what you were saying to her or what she should say back. She could only repeat words or sentences that she had heard on a tv show or in a cartoon. She went to speech therapy twice a week. That's now down to once a week. She goes to physical and occupational therapy each once a week.

This September she started "regular" kindergarten with 15 fellow students. I can't describe to you the joy and the pride we have for our little girl as she works so hard every day to beat autism...and Aleks IS winning this battle. I'm running this marathon to raise money so that other kids like Aleks will have their own chance to beat autism.

We know that it can be done because we're seeing it first hand. This is their marathon. Mine will be over in 4 1/2 hours, theirs is a lifetime.

Thank you very much.

By the way, this is my 5th and final marathon I'm running so don't wait for next year to give!
