Life is like riding a bicycle - to keep your balance, you must keep moving

Frustrated because it's hard to get your car in and out of the space next to the bike rack? Or because there's not enough room to lock your bike up at CLP?

Please consider donating to CLP to replace the old bike rack with one that better accommodates more bicycles, and also makes it easier to get a car in and out of the car parking space closest to the bike rack.

Did you know that "Fence" type bike racks similar to CLP's old rack do not meet the city of madison bike parking standards? These standards require that:

• bike racks support the frame of the bicycle (not merely one wheel) in two places
• bike racks allow for at least the front wheel and the frame to be locked with a typical U shaped bike lock

Replacing the old rack will make life easier for those who drive to CLP, because the old rack encourages bicyclists to park their bikes behind the old rack rather than "in" the rack, which leaves less room to get a car in and out of that stall closest to the bike rack.
