Bethany House of Northern Virginia

Consider Natasha’s story. Four months ago, Natasha arrived at Bethany House with dismay on her face. Her spirit had been trampled upon and she was drained of all energy—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Hope was not on the horizon and she was fearful of how she would provide for her three children without support from her abusive husband. She considered returning to their house just to ensure her children would have somewhere to call home.

Four months later, and with the support of our Family Assistance Program (FAP), Natasha is a new woman. Enrolled in vocational school, she has gained newfound confidence in herself. She now believes she can do it—she can make it without her abuser. These days Natasha laughs and beams with hope for her future. Through our FAP, Natasha received the vital services she and her children needed to overcome the trauma of domestic violence and move toward self-sufficiency.
