Fighting CF One Mile At A Time.
My name is Ben Dempsey, on March 18th, 2012 I will be running in my first marathon (26.2 Miles). On September 22, 2006 I lost my good friend Stephen Starnes to his battle with Cystic Fibrosis at age 22. Stephen lived everyday to the fullest and never let his illness pull him down. I am dedicating the race to the memory of Stephen Starnes. I pray that Cystic Fibrosis will be beaten. Let's shine the light for these families. Will you join me?
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited, chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 800 children and adults in Georgia, 30,000 individuals in the United States, and 70,000 people worldwide. In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical care have enhanced and extended the lives of children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can expect now to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
I started running for TEAM 65 Roses in 2011. My first campign raised $2876. My 2012 Goal is to raise a combined total of $9000. Please help me raise the remaining $6,124 to hit the goal and lord willing exceed it.
Thank you for your support.
