Ben Sher - Helping Disadvantaged Youth in the East Bay and Israel
Ben Sher fundraising for Jewish Community Foundation
Our goal this year at the EBJTF is to help fund organizations that provide opportunities to disadvantaged youth. Please help us!
This year at the EBJTF, our mission statement is: The East Bay Jewish Teen Foundation will fund organizations that provide a safe and healthy environment and innovative educational opportunities in order to promote self-empowerment and stable foundation for disadvantaged youth primarily in the East Bay and in Israel.
Lately, I've heard some incredibly moving stories about the effects that poverty has had on youth in the East Bay and Israel. To be able to express the emotions I've felt from hearing these would be impossible to do online. I'm sure everyone who is reading this has had a time where they have heard of a classmate or friend of a friend who has been having to deal with the effects of poverty. Do you remember that feeling of helplessness? I know that I have felt that, and I'm fortunate enough to be on an excellent foundation this year where our mission is to do something about this. I would encourage you to make a donation and if you are unable to make one, I would highly encourage you to help out at a local shelter or soup kitchen; it is extremely fulfilling work and an incredible way to make a difference. Thank you!
This mission is extremely important to all of us because it affects people our age in our homelands.
