Welcome to my 2013 Boston Marathon Fundraising Page! Donations are greatly appreciated and vital for the Bay State Games organization!

Thank you all again for your generosity in helping me raise my fundraising goal as I prepare for the 2013 Boston Marathon running for the Bay State Games Charity Team. I NEED YOUR HELP in raising funds for this important cause and please pass my website along to ANYONE you feel may be interested in donating!

As you may know, I have been an avid long-distance runner for my entire life: I have participated in many 5K and half-marathon races since I was in high school. This year, I have decided to take on one of the biggest challenges of my life: I have decided to run the 2013 Boston Marathon with the Bay State Games Charity Team! Finishing this marathon is not only important to me as an athlete, but because all participants have to raise $4000 for a charity of their choice, it will also allow me to support others who are not as fortunate as I am.

The charity I am running for, the Bay State Games, is a nonprofit organization that has been in existence for 30 years. The mission of the organization is to promote health, physical fitness, education, sportsmanship and personal development through athletic, educational and health related programs. There are nine programs in total, which deal with significant issues including childhood obesity, funding afterschool athletic programs and financial assistance for college. Over 50,000 Massachusetts participants, ranging in age from 6 to over 86 take part in the various programs of the Bay State Games. The funds I am raising are essential in allowing the Bay State Games to be able to continue their mission of producing quality recreational, health and educational programming.

You may donate as much or as little as you want to my charity, as it will go a long way to making a difference. I know that if I did not have any of these opportunities then I would have not developed my passion for athletics. Changing the situation that these individuals are faced with is hard work, but it is a cause that is worth fighting for – and that change starts with me at the individual level, and ripples out to people like you!

In 2013, the charity’s aim is to raise over $100,000 while providing avid runners, like myself, with an opportunity to achieve their lifetime goal of competing in the Boston Marathon. I am looking forward to the mental and physical challenge of running this prestigious race and am excited to be running for an organization that that helps others to reach their physical and educational ambitions. Once again, thank you in advance for your support!

UPDATE:

Hi All- I know many of you have made your generous donations to support my cause and once again thank you sooo much for your support! I just wanted to let you all know how I was doing.

  • As of 3/1 I have hit $2000 for my fundraising (online and offline donations)!!! I am half way there and let me tell you all this, I have one more month to go and NEED to hit my $4000 goal. So those of you who would like to donate please do so.
  • In addition, training for this marathon has been amazing! I have meet so many new people through my training sessions and have learned so much about eating right, taking breaks, and working out effectively. As of 2/23, 18 miles including heartbreak hill (Natick-->Boston run!). This would have not been possible without the support of my wonderful family and friends. Thank you all for your kind words of support.
  • As of 3/9 I have completed my longest run to date, 20 mile run (crossing heartbreak hill twice...front and back). This one was a little tricky especially getting hit with the 6 inches of snow the day before.
  • Up coming runs include one more 21 mile run from Hopkinton to Boston College!
  • More to come soon! xoxox
