A readings series that features the extraordinary talents of the literary community in the Twin Cities metro area and beyond.

Originally, a program of SASE, The Write Place, the series is now solely sponsored by Banfill-Locke. Curator/Hosts for this 2nd Friday Night Reading Series have included poet and author Kate Kysar , (Dark Lake), award-winning poet, Anna George Meek, John Reimringer acclaimed novelist, and award-winning poet, Katrina Vandenberg . Currently, the series curator/host is another well-regarded poet, Kris Bigalk. She is the 2009-10 Writer-in-Residence of BLCA and serves as the Director of the Creative Writing Department at Normandale Community College. Authors who have appeared at Banfill-Locke include an incredible roster of Minnesota poets and writers from Heid Erdrich to Jim Lenfestey to Joyce Sutphen to playwright, Aditi Kapil. Aware that writers deserve monetary compensation for their time. Funding is needed for nominal stipends for participating writers as well as the curator/host.

This reading series is unique in the area and offers a deeply, satisfying literary experience generated by Minnesota writers to anyone interested. Wheelchair accessible, and free, the Reading Series welcomes all.
