I am traveling to Guyana to work with Builders Beyond Borders! Please help fund my trip! Thanks, Ingrid Backe
Dear Family and Friends,
This coming March, during my school vacation, I will be traveling to Guyana to perform community service work with Builders Beyond Borders (“B3”). B3 is an amazing organization that organizes opportunities for high school students to perform volunteer work in areas that are suffering and in need, both locally and globally. This year in Guyana we will be working with Habitat for Humanity Guyana to build a community center in a town called Festival City, which will greatly improve their quality of life.
The people of Festival City take great pride in their village, but really need a safe place where the community can all come together for clinics, meetings, classes, training, sporting and cultural events. The local community group, FCYPO (Festival City Youth and Parent Organization) will work closely with us and be a large part of our experience there. I am very excited to meet these Guyanese families and work together with them to “build a better world!”
A unique aspect of B3 is that all funding for the trip is raised by the students themselves. This includes expenses for our travel as well as the materials, supplies and tools needed to build the center. B3 is a not-for-profit organization so all donations are 100% tax deductible. If you would like to learn more about this fantastic group you may visit their website at www.buildersbeyondborders.org .
Would you please consider making a donation to support my involvement in this extraordinary project? Any amount would be greatly appreciated! You may contribute one of two ways: a check can be made payable to “Builders Beyond Borders” and sent to my address: 388 Old Post Rd., Fairfield, CT 06824. Or, if it is more convenient, you can donate online at www.razoo.com/story/Backe-For-B3. If you have any questions please email me any time at “email@example.com” or call me at (203)450-3062. I would love to hear from you and I look forward to sharing this amazing experience with you when I return.
