ArtRage exhibits progressive art that inspires resistance and promotes social awareness.

ArtRage is a project of a local non-profit organization, the CORA Foundation, and is no ordinary art gallery. Founded by the family of Syracuse resident and social activist Norton Putter in 2008, the ArtRage mission is to exhibit progressive art that inspires resistance and promotes social awareness; supports social justice, challenges preconceptions and encourages cultural change. The ArtRage event programming is fully in keeping with their mission to "spread the word" about social issues through art. The goal is to provide the community with an experience that encourages the breakdown of boundaries so that people can see themselves in the work and then in one another. This, we believe, is the seed of a movement for cultural and social change.

Located at 505 Hawley Avenue in Syracuse, New York, ArtRage is handicapped accessible.

Those who suffer injustice often find a vehicle for healing in producing art. The rest of us touched by injustice can find solace in viewing that art, kind of like listening to blues. ArtRage provides a powerful intersection for the two. It is the fertile ground of social change from which peace springs.
