The Problem Gambler's HelpLine is funded through voluntary contributions. To our community it's not just a phone number, it's a LIFELINE.

For most people gambling is harmless fun and entertainment. Setting limits on the amount of time and money spent gambling - and sticking to those limits is what responsible gaming is all about.

But for the person who cannot gamble responsibly, the fun has already stopped, and the problems of addiction have begun.

Have you ever been in a crisis and called 911?

Imagine if 911 was voluntarily funded?

How much would you be willing to give to insure this vital service was available for you or your loved one in a time of need? $10? $25? $100 or more?

Nevada residents benefit in many ways from the thriving gaming industry in our state, but not without some social cost. Prevalence studies conducted by the State of Nevada indicate that problem gambling rates among Nevada adults are higher than anywhere else in the country.

Since 1995 the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling has provided the 24 hour confidential Problem Gamblers HelpLine service for the people of Nevada, and all Nevada gaming licensees are required by state regulation to publicly post this number in their gaming location.

Through the HelpLine, individuals are able to speak confidentially to someone about their gambling problem and recieve information about available treatment and support resources in their area.

1-800-522-4700. To you it may just be a number. But to the people who need help - it is a LIFELINE.

The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling receives no state or federal funds and relies on charitable contributions from individuals and organizations to support the work that we do. When the HelpLine phone rang over 15,000 times last year, we answered - and paid for - every call.

We need everyone's support to provide this vital HelpLine service that links individuals and families to the helping resources that can change their lives for the better.

Please donate what you can today - every contribution of any amount makes a difference! You can also make a recurring monthly donation of $10 or more and be assured that all year long you will be supporting this important Lifeline for so many who suffer from a gambling problem.

The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling is committed to working with all stakeholders to reduce the impact of problem gambling in the State of Nevada, through public awareness, education and access to resources for help. The Nevada Council is a 501c3 non-profit organization and does not take a position for or against legal gambling.
