Help send girls to our Eureka! Program where they'll work directly with mentors to help set and achieve personal, educational & career goals

The Eureka! Program empowers girls to envision and pursue educational and career opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by providing hands-on opportunities for guided career exploration, skill development and knowledge building. Throughout the multi-year Eureka! Program, girls test themselves mentally and physically and discover they're capable of far more than they thought possible. Eureka! girls and their families are introduced to the requirements and resources that will help them access higher education and employment in exciting careers that pay a living wage. They learn how to plan their high school course of study, take the standardized tests necessary for college acceptance, and advocate for themselves in every aspect of their lives. And they learn all of this alongside professional women mentors who offer first hand experience and guidance to help them identify and achieve their dreams.

Outcomes for girls in the Eureka Program include:

  • Increased understanding of the variety of career opportunities available within STEM fields, and mastery of the steps necessary to achieve them
  • Increased motivation to succeed in school
  • Strong self-efficacy - goal setting, problem solving, critical thinking, risk evaluation, self-reliance and decision making skills
  • Successful personal development - discovering personal strengths, defining personal values, learning conflict resolution, and ensuring personal health and safety

If you, like me, know someone - a mother, daughter, niece, sister, friend – who's been told that she can't or shouldn't pursue certain careers, take certain risks, or follow her dreams because of her gender, then please consider supporting my efforts to raise funds for the Eureka! Program at Girls Inc. of the Island City.I believe that at Girls Inc. of the Island City we empower girls to become strong, smart and bold women of the 21st century. Please help me help our girls by donating today!

With warm wishes for a happy holiday season,
