I will be completing my first cycling event November 17th in the Tour de Tucson to raise money for Uphill Into the Wind.

I am going to try to ride 111 miles...I know I can drive that! Slightly nervous, but extremely excited about it. This is how it got started for me:

I have been wanting to join the Uphill Into the Wind team for a long time now but have been unable to due to a back injury that I have been fighting with. In February of this year I finally had surgery on my back and have been working to return to regular duty as a firefighter. Uphill Into the Wind provides someone like myself a chance to be professionally fitted on a road bike and borrow the bike to help raise money for various foundations, while giving me the opportunity to try the sport of cycling. It is an incredibly beneficial organization that has raised money around the valley for foundations like lymphoma/leukemia society, diabetes, and breast cancer awareness. I look forward to completing my first ride in November and training with the Uphill team. Donations to this page are a way to not only help this foundation continue its mission but it is also a gift that keeps giving by allowing myself and others to keep raising money through different rides. Thank you in advance for any contribution.
