AMIGOS DE LAS AMERICAS

The Washington DC Chapter of Amigos de las Américas sends students from throughout the DC area to Latin America every summer to engage in community development and youth leadership projects. After training throughout the winter and spring, high school students join over 700 other Amigos volunteers from other parts of the United States to provide community service in Panama, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru or Costa Rica for six to eight weeks next summer while living with a local family.
