The foundation was founded in memory of Amanda and we support special needs children in our community along with youth sports and VCFS
Amanda passed away at age 8 1/2 from Viral Myocarditis. She was the strongest sweetest person you could know and she shared her hugs with everyone she met. We had many medical issues, including Velo-Cardio-Facial Syndrome but she never complained and always tried her best. Her sudden passing was a catalyst for many in our community to come together and Do Good Things In Amanda's Name. As we started to fundraise, we recognized four major areas that we could impact. First we wanted to support the special needs children in the public schools. Next, we wanted to support those youth sports programs that were being under served. We also wanted to support the VCFS Education foundation that had provided support to our family. We also wanted to help fund research for Viral Myocarditis, the cause of Amanda's passing. In just over 8 years, the foundation has donated over $800,000 to meet support these efforts. It is about people coming together to do good things. We are so very grateful for the love and support of our community and the way they have continued to keep Amanda's sweet, loving spirit alive.
