Alternative Spring Break

I am returning to the gulf coast for the 5th year to help with the area of the country ravaged by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I'm going to a part of the country that most people have forgotten about. Most think of New Orleans when they think of the hurricane. I will be in S. Mississippi, Biloxi to be specific. Also, most think that since such a large time has passed, things must be better. Well they aren't. There are still numerous socioeconomic problems that have plagued this area since Katrina made landfall in August of '05. Many of the once residents have still not returned because they have nothing to return to. It is our hope that if we help to get certain child care facilities, doctors offices, dentists offices up etc..... up and running then people will want to return. The part of the country is beautiful in spirit and the people make me feel welcome every time I make my way down there.
