Tail Wagger Dog Walk will raise fund to benefit Pets Alive, a no-kill animal sanctuary.
Pets Alive has been an important organization to me since November 2010 when I joined as a volunteer. Over the years I've gotten involved with Pets Alive in different capacities, orientation leader, adopter (of Lexi!) and most recently with events. This walk is an event I've had in mind for a while and I am so happy to see it actually happening!
As one of the oldest and largest no-kill organizations in the United States, proceeds from the Tail Wagger Dog walk will help Pets Alive continue to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for thousands of companion animals each year.
We are thrilled to have Robert, one of our miracle rescues, serving as our Grand Marshall for the walk. Robert was pulled from NYC Animal Care and Control in March and was in horrible, life threatening condition, with no control of his hind end; he was scheduled to be euthanized on the morning that we rescued him. We quickly rushed him in to a critical care vet where, after a number of tests, he underwent spinal surgery. Today, after months of care and therapy at Pets Alive, he is thriving and even beginning to regain movement in hind legs.
