Aid Expedition 2010

Dear Family and Friends, We are writing to you once again as we prepare for our trip to Vietnam. Noah, Jesse and I are so delighted that we have the opportunity to travel with The Catalyst Foundation, from March 21 – April 3, 2010 for our second Aid Expedition. The Catalyst Foundation is a grass roots organization that is working directly with the people of Vietnam. They are building schools, providing houses for people who call a garbage dump home. They are providing food and medical care for people who otherwise would have nothing. During our expedition in 2008, we were able to see the money the kids and I raised going directly to the people of Vietnam. Noah, Jesse and I paid our own way as did the 100 volunteers. Each of us raised at least $1,500.00 just to participate. We also collected items such as tooth brushes, clothing, books, flip flops, stickers, first aid supplies and Beanie Babies. We packed these items into large hockey bags and brought them half way around the world. We were able to see the sheer delight in a little boy’s smile as he received a Beanie Baby, the one and only toy he has ever had! We were able to see families move from a lean-two into a home with 1 room, 4 solid walls and a roof. The excitement was overwhelming for all of us!
