The Great Plains Institute is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis, serving 12 Midwestern States and the province of Manitoba.

Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and low-carbon economy through consensus public policy, research, education and technology deployment. In short, we convene diverse leaders to develop tomorrow's energy solutions. Over the past two years, for example, we have worked with the Midwestern Governors Association to assist governors across the Midwest develop a Roadmap for ushering in a clean energy economy and the jobs that would come with it.
