Adegya, a village of 2,000 in central Ghana, is over 80% unemployed or underemployed - a village that lives in poverty day in and day out.

The great gift we consider giving to people is to provide tools and resouces that provides solutions to the poverty in this village. This fish farm is established with a natural running stream that will eventually host 12 fish ponds. Each pond will be stocked with Tilapia. Within one year the Tilapia can be sold at market, to business within a larger city, hospitals...there is a continual demand for this fish but not enough sources to provide for that demand, In this village we also provided for 200 Plantain trees that will provide a food source for the village but also be able to sell at markets. This fish farm will help us employ several unemployed individuals. The village in partnership with Operation Dignity donated the land for this fish farm and is providing common labor when needed to help with the excavation and establishing of the ponds. This is the first phase of development in this village. The second phase of development includes an agrarian center with a vocational training center. How had this already affecgtd the villagers? They welcome this partnership. When the excavator came to begin the work, many of those in the village were on hand to witness the progress...it created a happiness that meant not a short term, but long term hopefulness for them.

Your supporting dollars will help us create employement and a source of revenue for the village, giving the village the ability to provide for itself instead of being dependent on others.
