I'd been contemplating training again, but never had decent motivation that lasted more than a couple weeks. Now this motivation is for family. Close relatives are affected...one has been diagnosed with Kennedy's Disease and the other is a carrier.
I've always been proud of my ability to run long distance and at a fairly good clip. That was some time ago, though. In the last ten years I've taken for granted the health I enjoy by becoming a slug. I should be celebrating my talent and blessings! My goal is to run a half marathon in November in Malibu, CA.
I'm running this race for two reasons: to improve my own health and to promote awareness and funding for the Kennedy's Disease Association. I'm running for those who can't...
