Your donations will enable 5 year old Kinley to experience the unconditional love and permanency that can come only from family.

Kinley and Her New Family:

Melinda became a single mother in June of 2010 when she adopted then 5-year-old Kawinthida from Thailand. When Melinda first arrived at the orphanage, Kawinthida walked into the room where she was waiting, pointed at a picture and then pointed at Melinda, and exclaimed “Mommy!” What a magincal first moment! In the year and a half since, she has grown 5½ inches, gained 10 pounds, and has learned to speak, read and write English remarkably well. The only thing she longs for now is a sister.

In March of 2011, China reopened adoptions to single mothers. Melinda immediately began to search for a little girl who had, months earlier, captured her heart on a waiting child photolist. When she finally came across the girl’s picture again, Melinda admits “my heart skipped a beat!” She quickly learned that Kinley not only shared Kawinthida’s cerebral palsy diagnosis, but also shared diagnoses of schizencephaly and absence of septum pellucidum. It was clear to Melinda that Kinley was meant to be her daughter, and meant to be Kawinthida’s sister. What was not clear, however, was how she would afford a second adoption so soon after her first.

Melinda started saving all she could, she spent the savings she had on her home study, she borrowed what she could, and she ran endless fundraisers and consignment sales. She raised the lion’s share of the $27,000 that she needed, but she still found herself a bit short. However, a $5,000 grant from the Gift of Adoption Fund will now cover the final costs, allowing Melinda to finalize her adoption and give Kinley the love and future that every child so desperately desires.

Our Challenge:

Our goal for this campaign is to raise $5,000 -- enough money to sponsor this entire grant!

We know this is an aggressive goal, but we also know there are so many people out there who want to make an impact on the lives of children like Kinley. Short of actually adopting a child, this is one of the most direct and impactful ways of doing so. It is a gift that will not only provide love, nurturing and care today, but will also provide a lifelong sense of dignity and belonging. This campaign is a chance for all of us to make a very direct impact on the enormous issue of parentless children.

Not only are donations tax-deductible, but 100% of all funds donated through this campaign will go directly toward funding this particular grant.

Thank You

Thank you for joining us in another “adoption challenge.” By making a donation here you can make a very real, direct and immediate impact on the life and future of this little girl and this special family. What a wonderful and amazing gift; one that will last a lifetime.

With hope and in gratitude,

The Krygiel/Daley Family

Jeff, Deb, Turner, Macie, Josie, Laney and Kate
