Year End Fundraiser to benefit Liberty's Promise and build upon the momentum generated this year by LP's programs for immigrant youth.
As a board member of Liberty's Promise, I have been honored to work with an organization that provides a solid foundation for immigrant youth and empowering them to become influential leaders in society. Both Seble and I are very passionate about this cause and have found no other organization that is as committed to impacting young lives on such a scale. Going into 2013, Liberty's Promise has served hundreds of 1st and 2nd generation students and has begun to establish itself as a leader in the Metropolitan D.C. area --- people are taking notice! Recently, Liberty's Promise was awarded the Hugh A. Johnson, Jr. Memorial Award by the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C. for its outstanding contributions to the community. Educators and public officials alike have also praised our internship and civic education programs as being a tremendous service to the community at large.
As we end 2012 and look towards the promise of a new year, I am humbly coming before you to help us keep our momentum going and continue to offer our important programs to these young students. It is my hope and desire that 50 people would be willing to donate $50 and I hope that you would consider giving to this worthy cause. With this money, we will be able to help finance our programs in the DC area and offer more opportunities for empowering our students. All gifts will be tax deductible and would be a wonderful way to get those last minute tax breaks! As someone who Seble and I personally value, I am thankful for any consideration you can provide to this cause!
I could go on and on about the great things we do but, I'll leave you with some final thoughts from our students:
"Liberty's Promise has helped me to be more confident in myself."
"I now have skills for the future."
"If I hadn't learned about this internship, I would have never gone to a library or learned how to find a book."
Thanks so much for considering, may you be blessed this coming Christmas and New Year!
