True and lasting peace is not something we stumble upon -- true peace is something we teach and learn, pursue and build, invest in and harvest. If we hope to have peace in our world, we need to begin by teaching our children about the paths of peace more than they are taught about the tactics of violence. And, as I don't need to tell you, we have a long way to go.

On Earth Peace (google it!) is working to create and implement programs that teach children how to beat swords into plowshares, that they might lead us all into a world where peace is the air we breathe.

I am adding my efforts to a campaign that was started in memory of Paul Ziegler, a young peacemaker who died before he was able to carry out his dream of biking 3000 miles across the country for peace.

I will be walking about 200 miles of the Appalachian Trail in June and about 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in July (God willing!).

Soo... good, peace-loving people, give whatever you feel called to give, and know that you have my deepest gratitude, not to mention the gratitude of On Earth Peace.
