Tenacity is dedicated to helping under-served urban youth build literacy skills, confidence, & independence by engaging them in tennis
As many of you know, I was disappointed that Hurricane Sandy interfered with my first marathon this fall. Fortunately, I found a way to sign up for another race - and more importantly, one that allows me to get involved with Tenacity.
Tenacity reaches out to kids in Boston through after-school and summer programs, teaching them the game of tennis - as well as commitment, self-awareness, and confidence. Coupled with academic tutoring and lessons on life skills, Tenacity has built relationships with more than 20,000 kids since it was founded in 1999.
This is an especially exciting year to be part of the Tenacity team since this is its first year fundraising thorugh the Boston Marathon. I appreciate any support you can give - and come out in April to cheer us on!
