65ROSES is an organization set up to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Last year, we had over 90 runners participate in the Publix Marathon.
Team 65ROSES was conceived by two pediatric pulmonologists (and long-distance runners) to honor their Cystic Fibrosis patients. Knowing how their patients "endure" their diagnosis and relentless treatments to stay healthy, they would dedicate their endurance event to promote awareness and raise funds to support the search for the cure. Since then, these doctors and hundreds of people from around the US have run..... Miles for Cystic Fibrosis.... and will continue raising funds until the cure is found.
The team name is actually the children's nickname for the disease. Say the disease name aloud: cys-tic-fi-bro-sis. Now say the team name: six-ty-five-ros-es. See how the second pronounciation would make more sense to a young child? We honor these kids with every mile we run. Join us.
