2013 Deep Freeze Dunk: The Ott Family
Natalie, William and Lauren Ott fundraising for HAITI OUTREACH
January 12, 2013 Rotary Partnership for Haiti will present its 4th annual Deep Freeze Dunk, to raise funds to support Haiti Outreach.
“To collaborate with the people of Haiti to build and maintain community-initiated projects that advance their development."
This is how we operate – this is what we do – in order to bring this vision into reality. Each part of our mission statement is very important in describing what we do:
Our work to date has been in the three major areas of clean water, education, and economic development. We collaborate with many other organizations on our projects and hope to expand our services to include agriculture, medical services, and infrastructure such as roads and electricity.
Clean Water – We drill wells and help create basic water systems in mostly small towns and rural communities.
Education – We build public schools. We have an agreement with the Ministry of Education that they will administer and run the schools if we build them.
Economic Development- We collaborate with Fonkoze, a Haitian micro-lending bank, to create lending opportunities for mostly poor women in rural communities.
Agriculture – We have begun a partnership with Mindful Generations to create a pilot project for permaculture in Pignon, including setting up sample gardens and teaching local farmers about sustainable agriculture.
