10th Anniversary of my 21st Birthday!

I have been a volunteer with Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership, primarily the South Dakota program, since December 2003 and have witnessed the positive impact it can have on youth, communities, and the volunteers.

In August 2010, I moved to Portland, Oregon, for graduate school. My program required a service-learning experience to be done locally, and I chose HOBY Oregon!

Currently, I'm in the Galapagos Islands completing a semester of volunteer/study/research abroad for my graduate program. I still am volunteering for both HOBY South Dakota and Oregon at a distance as well as a few local initiatives here on the islands.

I'm hoping friends, family, and maybe even some strangers might consider making a donation towards either of the HOBY programs that have made a positive impact on countless youth and volunteers, including myself!

My goal is $150 for each program - a partial scholarship for one youth to attend. Each year, we have several students interested in attending, but who go to schools who cannot afford the registration fee, and their families often do not have much to contribute as well.
