Altered Esthetics 2011 Exhibitions!

What a year it has been for Altered Esthetics and the arts community! In spite of an incredibly tight budget and reduced annual contributions, we have been able to:

- Continue our rigorous 14 show exhibition schedule, including our annual Children’s Art show and Día de los Muertos celebrations
- Maintain our exhibition facilities
- Continue our hands-on internship program
- Complete a migration to a new and improved accounting program, increasing our transparency and better serving our artists and donors

In addition to achieving the above goals, we also added workshops back to our list of services!

Since our inception in 2004, we’ve brought the work of over 1400 artists to public view through more than 60 compelling exhibitions, something we could not have done without the support of people like you.

2011 is going to be a great year for Ae, and we hope you will be a part of it. In addition to our 14-show exhibition schedule, we’re also installing a new solo exhibitions program to help local emerging artists. To preserve our databases and accounting system we need to purchase a new computer—we’ve been using the same computer since 2004! With more than 5,000 people coming through our doors each year, our facilities require maintenance, paint and lights, details that will enhance the quality, professionalism and warmth of our exhibitions.

Altered Esthetics operates on a minimal budget with no paid staff and a working board comprised of community volunteers with a passion for the arts. A majority of our funding comes from exhibition fees and individual donations, allowing us to select offbeat shows and remain artist-focused. Our board is not only 100% voluntary, but every board member makes an annual contribution in addition to the time and talent they already devote because they know their support sustains the organization. We’re asking you to partner with us over the next year as we continue our mission of serving artists. Every donation enhances our ability to remain a cornerstone of the Twin Cities arts community.
