Help make a difference in the life of a child with special needs by supporting Special Strides and The Steven Werthan Memorial Fund.
"Life isn't about what you have; it's about what you have to give."
Special Strides is located at Congress Hill Farm in Monroe, NJ. At Special Strides a therapist along with the power of the horse help improve the lives of children with physical and developmental disabilities. For a child with Cerebral Palsy, Autism or other sensory and motor conditions this type of therapy can improve a child's muscle tone, balance, posture, coordination and self confidence in ways you cannot imagine. At Special Strides the horse is the child's companion.
On October 16th, 2010 Special Strides will be hosting their Annual Barn Benefit Dance. I have been to the event and this year Joe and I have chosen to help raise funds to benefit Special Strides and the Steven Werthan Memorial Fund.
Often families of children with special needs face a financial burden to meet the demands for their care. In too many cases, the therapy Special Strides provide is not covered by insurance. The Steven Werthan Memorial Fund provides financial assistance to families who otherwise would not be able to participate in our program.
So here is how you can help Joe and I help the kids and families at Special Strides. I am asking you to please make a pledge to help us fund a child's therapy. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $5,000 which will pay for 1 full scholarships. This would allow 1 child to receive therapy for a full year.
If you are interested just check off the amount you are comfortable donating and follow the steps.
Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
