This September, José Ramón entered his third year attending hippotherapy. For those of you who know us and know our son, you have seen the great improvement he has have in his physical development since he started riding "his horses" (as he likes to call them). For those of you who don´t know, José Ramón has been coping with physical challenges since he was a baby, and two years ago we wanted to give a try at this form of therapy that one of his doctors recommended. While looking at places where hippotherapy was offered, we found Special Strides, and fell in love with them (the farm, the horses, the people) the moment we visited for the first time.

Special Strides is a non-for-profit organization devoted to improving the lives of children with physical and developmental disabilities. Their therapy program has helped improve José Ramón's muscle tone, balance, posture, coordination and self confidence immensely.

Since Special Strides is a nonprofit, most of their costs are covered with the donations they receive. And on top of that, ALMOST HALF OF THE CHILDREN THEY SERVE BENEFIT FROM A SCHOLARSHIP. OUR SON IS ONE OF THEM.
