17th Annual Spring Walk
Langston Harris fundraising for Habitat for Humanity Inc. 7 Rivers Maine Inc.
This May 2nd, head to Habitat for Humanity in Bath to raise funds in support of affordable housing in our community.
In February 2010, this affiliate dedicated its 31st new home in Harpswell to Gwynn Erickson and her 5 year old daughter Meredith. In May, our newest prospective homeowner will partner with us to build our next new home build on Caledonia Lane in Bristol. This is already creating a lot of excitement in Lincoln County as fundraising and the search for a family continue. But Habitat is not just about new home builds – we are looking to help more families with the ongoing development of a Home Repair Program (with costs under $5,000) and a Weatherization Program. This past fall and winter, Habitat successfully weatherized 100 homes through Step One Weatherization.
On Sunday, May 2, more than 20 churches, organizations and businesses are expected to participate in Habitat’s largest annual fundraiser. Walkers will gather at the Habitat ReStore and Administrative Offices at 108 Centre Street for registration, an opening ceremony, and refreshments before heading out on a 5-mile route through downtown Bath and surrounding neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to arrive for registration between 12:30 and 1:30 pm. The opening ceremony will begin at 1 pm. Walk packets, which include a brochure, sponsorship form, and release/waiver, are available at the Habitat office in Bath.
