Empowering Kids in DC Foster Care
A project of CASA FOR CHILDREN OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
In ten years, CASA for Children of DC has served over 700 foster youth. We need your help NOW to serve many more!
CASA for Children of Washington, D.C. began in 2002 with a mission to recruit and train volunteers, known as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs).
Our dedicated CASA volunteers gather information about each child’s situation, submit reports to the court, make recommendations in the best interest of the child and provide the court with valuable insight into the child’s life. CASAs prevent children from falling through the cracks of the justice system and are dedicated to ensuring that these children are placed in safe, permanent homes.
In ten years, CASA for Children of DC has served over 700 foster youth. Moving forward, we would like to expand the number of foster children and youth we assist as well as diversify our supports to youth exiting out of foster care.
Together, we must ensure that the youth in Washington DC’s foster care system get the expert and caring support they deserve.
Please give today.
Sincerely,
Richard Harris
