Help us meet the Challenge Grant by December 31st!

I’m excited to announce that my fellow board members –Mary Kay Fyda-Mar, Larry Cripe, and Scott and Georgia Well – have issued a $10,000 Challenge Grant! From now until the end of the year, or until the goal is met, they will match any donation you make dollar-for-dollar!

As Chairman of the Board, I could not be prouder of this past year. In 2012, the Chance produced premieres of two provocative plays and one rocking new musical, totally reinvented a classic musical, developed new work, grew the education program and continued to set a higher standard for quality intimate theatre.

• SoCal Premiere of REBORNING, and readings of two new plays from Zayd Dohrn
• World Premiere of OVERLOOKED, by local screenwriter Brian Nelson
• L.A. Times Critic’s Choice for our bold retelling of WEST SIDE STORY
• Back Stage Critic’s Picks for ALL FOUR mainstage productions
• 24HR CHANCE-A-THON, 24 hours of performances from local artists (I was up all night!)
• Over 1,000 free or discounted tickets to students in Orange County
• 8th year of our innovative Speak Up! program free-of-charge to local students

You know that theater is much more than an entertaining night out. It pushes the limits of our imagination, and offers us an opportunity to engage as a community.
