Help those who fall into a crisis get back on their feet.
John came to The Salvation Army desperately in need of help with prescription medications for his son, Jerald. Jerald became very ill with H1N1 flu like symptoms and had to be rushed to the hospital. He also had some other underlying medical problems. The family had no medical insurance at this time. The county financial worker was working on their case, but it would take another week or two before they were approved. Jerald’s health improved with the medicine he received during his hospital visit, and he was ready to be released to go home. However, he needed a number of prescription medications to take at home and the hospital would not release him until the parents could show they had these medications in hand. Fortunately, with the Spirit of Hope funding, we were able to provide this family with the medications needed and Jerald was able to come home to continue his recovery.
