Our Team
J. Sebastian Traeger
- Occupation: CEO
- Location: Washington, DC
- How I want to make a difference: Encourage giving and help people see the personal joy in it for themselves.
- Twitter: sebtraeger
As CEO, Sebastian (aka, “The Tiger”) leads the charge at Razoo to revolutionize the philanthropic marketplace. Sebastian has spent the past 10 years starting and building various social enterprises. Previously, he co-founded, built and sold two web businesses: Christianity.com, a popular portal featuring news and resources and Silas Partners, a web consulting company that helps nonprofit organizations with online strategy, marketing and fund raising. In 1998, Sebastian helped launch Village Phone, taking the lead for their operations in El Salvador. He also worked at a management consulting firm, Dean & Company.
Sebastian attended Princeton University, where he played baseball, served as an RA, ran a campus cafe and carpet business, was active in Athletes-in-Action and studied politics. He is active in the social good space through his church (Capitol Hill Baptist Church) and through various nonprofit boards.
Sebastian is married and has two little boys, ages 20 months and 2 months. When he isn’t working he likes to eat comfort food, travel and compete in just about anything (and he likes to talk smack when he does). On that note, he started the bike-to-work trend at Razoo.
David Lam
- Occupation: Strategy and Product
- Location: Washington, DC
- How I want to make a difference: By making less of myself and more of others.
- Twitter: mr_clam
David is an ex-global vagabond now setting up camp in the burbs of DC. Prior to joining Razoo, he worked for three years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, working on projects ranging from marketing strategy to operations optimization to new product development. His last year with McKinsey was spent in Egypt advising the Egyptian Government, cruising the Nile and going on desert safaris. With an interest in international development, he has also worked on consulting projects for various organizations in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Sierra Leone. In spite of all his travels, his unbiased favorite remains Vancouver, Canada, which is consistently ranked as the best city in the world and also the place where he was born. David holds a Bachelors in Economics from Yale and Masters in International Development from Harvard.
Brian Fujito
- Occupation: Technology Lead
- Location: Washington, DC
- How I want to make a difference: Love others as I have been loved by God.
Brian is a technology geek who loves using business and technology to make a positive impact on the world. He studied computer science at Princeton and has been living in the start-up world ever since.
Prior to Razoo, Brian helped found a nonprofit in the DC area that helps incubate businesses in developing parts of the world. He has fond memories of working in Afghanistan - learning, consulting, dodging land mines, and eating Mantu. Now, Brian's back in technology. He was really never able to get rid of his urge to build useful software. Sebastian found Brian begging on the streets, remembered that Brian led the technology effort for their previous startup (Christianity.com), gave him half a sandwich, and offered a job in exchange for the second half (sort of).
Brian claims that the hardest thing he's ever done is to be a good husband to his amazing wife, and a good father to his kids - twins adopted from Kazakhstan. He loves spending time with his family and serving his church and local community.
Shai Chu
- Occupation: Operations Manager
- Location: Washington, DC
- How I want to make a difference: By being faithful in the little things that help our world and other people.
Shai is Razoo’s Operations Manager, though she has switched to being part-time early on this year because the arrival of a baby and is working mainly from home, Shai uses her motherly instinct to manage the office remotely. Most of the office seems to be functioning well, however, the basil plants have had their share of neglect and are now the office twigs.
Shai is originally from Shanghai, grew up in Hong Kong until she came over to the US for her college degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at The University of Pennsylvania. Shai explored several different career paths, from being a 2nd grade teacher to working in a global financial firm. She decided to settle here at Razoo mainly because of the people (yes, you guys!) and it brings warm fuzzies to her heart knowing that she’s working for an organization that strives to bring about positive change in the world.
Outside of Razoo, Shai takes care of a huge baby called Nicholas and her husband Ken. She enjoys dreaming about travel; the Maldivian Islands and Café Del Mar in Ibiza are definitely on her list. She loves dogs but until all stars align, she will continue to be dog-less. Shai also enjoys messing about on her keyboard and bass guitar and secretly dreams of being in a rock band.
David Kim
- Occupation: Marketing Manager
- Location: Washington, DC
- Twitter: bigdavekim
David is Razoo’s Marketing Manager and has the distinction of being one of only two people at the company named David who studied economics at Yale. Prior to joining Razoo, David worked at the consulting firm Bankable Frontier, where he focused on international financial sector development. In particular he worked with banks, telecoms, and development organizations to use mobile phones to provide financial services to the poor. He also worked for Capital One’s Strategy Group, working on projects in marketing, innovation, and acquisitions, among others (but he promises that he didn’t send you any junk mail).
David enjoys sports and Scrabble, and he’s had the unfortunate luck of being both a New York Knicks and Buffalo Bills fan. He likes watching the draft lottery because it’s the only time his teams are ever favored to win.

Derek holds Bachelor degrees in International Studies and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and an Masters of Public Administration from the London School of Economics.
Derek has a passion for international development and social entrepreneurship--particularly increasing access to finance--and recently worked with a South African microfinance institution to formulate a strategy for partnering with other local MFIs and other potential sources of funding. Grisha Trubetskoy
- Occupation: Software Developer
- Location: Falls Church, VA
Gregory (“Grisha”) is our resident hacker (a.k.a Software Developer). While he does stare a lot into his large screen monitor, what most people do not realize is that he’s mostly searching YouTube for the best Rachmaninoff performance. He claims to have been born and raised in Moscow, Russia, but nobody buys it because he has no accent.
Grisha’s Internet career started with being a founder of one of the first Internet Service Providers in the Washington, DC area. He spends a fair amount of time contributing to Open Source software projects and is the original author of mod_python (google for it, it’s all over the place). He’s also a VP at the Apache Software Foundation.
If he is not near a computer (which is very rare indeed), then he’s probably spending time with his wife and two children, playing piano or singing in his church choir.
Ian Lotinsky
- Occupation: Software Developer

His notable career accomplishments include building web applications for Lockheed Martin's entire 140,000 employee population and executive staff as well as co-founding SandwichBoard.

Growing up in India, Raj was fascinated by technology and social media, but he knew that there was more to this field than fixing bugs and discovering how to improve the latest software. He decided to pursue a Masters in Technology Management degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While in school, Raj had numerous opportunities to interact and work with multi-national corporations.
He is excited to bring his enthusiasm and insights to Razoo, a growing company that enables globalized philanthropy to grow. Raj also has rich experience as a Software Developer at Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS). Apart from working hard, he is fond of travel, photography, and ping-pong.
