Mission

United Way Of South Mississippi was founded in 1992 by three county United Ways to identify, prioritize, and meet the health and human service needs of the community through the efficient generation of resources from its members, and to prudently distribute those limited resources entrusted to the United Way to member agencies based upon their ability to meet those community needs.

Programs

Every community needs an effective network of health and social service programs to assist citizens in times of need. UWOSM works to ensure a solid base of funding for its member agencies through local community donations. UWOSM receives and allocates funds to United Way member agencies. One of UWOSMs recent accomplishments was increasing its campaign pledges over 40% in the past two years.
