Twin Cities RISE!
A US registered nonprofit
Twin Cities RISE!'s primary training program is the Core Program, which provides training to a diverse group of low-income men and women with multiple barriers to long-term self-sufficiency. It is a unique combination of Personal Empowerment training, one-on-one coaching, customized workskills training, and employment placement services.
Training includes courses in soft skills development, occupational development, academic development and job-search skills. Participants receive one-on-one coaching that provides on-going support while in training and on the job. The Core Program operates in five, ten-week sessions each year, and participants must have a GED or High School Diploma to be admitted.
The Core Program has been expanded in 2009 to include pre-program opportunities and classes for participants who are not yet ready to begin Foundations I, the first stage of training in the Core Program. Pre-program class offerings include GED prep support, coaching, Empowerment/Life Skills group work, job search support and resources, and a Men’s Group. Participants who are admitted in-between sessions can also engage immediately with this programming while waiting for the new session to begin.
Awali Inside/Out is a program for incarcerated men designed to prepare them for entrance into the Core Program. In all programs, TCR! incorporates Personal Empowerment training as a means to increase positive solutions in both, professional and personal situations.
TCR! also provides two other services: Empowerment Institute and Employer Services. Due to the success of Personal Empowerment in our participant programs, our Empowerment Institute trains business and non-profit employees on Personal Empowerment within the workplace. Our Employer Services provides employers with skilled and motivated applicants in various careers such as administrative support, financial services, accounting, customer service centers, operations, manufacturing and warehousing.
