Help us invest in great students, great teachers and great tutors. Double your gift TODAY!

YOUR GIFT will help the Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation invest in great students, great teachers, and great tutors. Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar with a challenge grant from the Bremer Foundation.

Investing in Great Students:

  • Over 6,500 students are being tutored by over 2,000 tutors from 30 community partners in 41 Saint Paul Public Schools through the Tutoring Partnership for Academic Excellence. Evidence shows that tutoring works. A 2010 independent study showed that third grade Saint Paul Public School students who received tutoring outperformed students that did not receive tutoring: low-performing (lowest quartile) students (22 greater growth), English learners (27% greater growth), and students in poverty (22% great growth.)
  • Each spring the top 10 students from each high school are honored at the Celebration of Excellence.

Investing in Great Tutors:

  • The Foundation recruits and trains tutors, evaluates results, trains organizations to implement best practice tutoring, and operates its own tutoring program called Believe*Achieve which is tutoring 900 students in 13 schools.

Investing in Great Teachers:

  • The Foundation celebrates and supports great teachers through its Inspired Educator and Enrichment Grant programs.

How you can help? Invest in great students, great teachers, and great tutors.

  • Donate Today! All donations will be matched dollar for dollar by a challenge grants from the Bremer Foundation.
  • Tutor. Give one hour a week to tutor a student in math or reading.

The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that partners with the Saint Paul Public School district and the community to increase academic achievement for students attending the Saint Paul Public Schools.

The foundation helps bridge the poverty gap in SPPS by filling resources that wealthier districts have and SPPS doesn't.

Tutoring is as valuable to St. Paul's students as giving blood is to the Red Cross! To be able to utilize my experience to help these children and their teachers is a small sacrifice with big results. Thanks to the Foundation for their efforts to continue the tutoring program.

I currently have two daughters attending St. Paul Public Schools and see first-hand the need for contributions of time, talent and treasure. My son, also a product of the St. Paul school system benefited from an outstanding education and is now in college. Good luck to the Foundation for St. Paul Public Schools, we need a great public school system in St. Paul, and your help will bring us there!

SEED is a unique and important program. The teachers are great and the community of students enhances the experience. There is not another program like it in MN and perhaps the nation. As a well-education professional cut down by mental health issues mid-career, it has been a very helpful resource in adding to quality of life amid long-term disability and an effective tool in the long road to recovery.
