Miller-Dwan Foundation is raising the last $300,000 of a $6 million campaign to build Amberwing, a mental wellness center for young people.
The Miller-Dwan Foundation is the only independent, public, medical foundation in the region, and, as a public charity, we maintain a commitment to the health of the people of northeastern Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin and northern Michigan. As the area’s largest medical foundation, we have provided more than $17,000,000 in grant support to Miller-Dwan Medical Center, Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center, and more than fifty other regional nonprofit organizations that address community health concerns. In order to better address medical needs in our region, we have created Solvay Hospice House, the Caring Ways Cancer Resource Center, and the Abilities First Fund.
Currently, the Miller-Dwan Foundation is working on raising the last $300,000 of a $6,000,000 capital fundraising campaign to build Amberwing, a child and adolescent mental health and chemical dependency treatment center, away from the hospital in a home-like setting. The center will include family therapy, art therapy, music and animal therapy along with the traditional age-appropriate therapy Miller-Dwan currently provides.
Since its inception in 1973, the Miller-Dwan Foundation has partnered with individuals, families, businesses and organizations, and together, we are making our region a better place to live and work. We match donor interests with local health care needs, and with our unrestricted funds, we have the flexibility to respond to the changing face of health care.
