International Medical Corps Mission [edit]

International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and medical relief programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer United States doctors and nurses, IMC is a private, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, IMC rehabilitates devastated health care and economic systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

International Medical Corps Programs [edit]

International Medical Corps works with communities in urban and rural areas, isolated villages, refugee camps, disaster sites, and frontline hospitals to provide essential health services, save lives, relieve suffering, and encourage self-reliance. IMC trains local workers and establishes quality, sustainable health and economic development systems in war torn, impoverished regions of the world. Both during and after a crisis, IMC supports longer-term recovery through training and economic development and civil society initiatives that rebuild local capacity.
