M.O.M.S. believes that every child deserves to feel loved, our goal is to help women create stable home environments by coming along side families with support, education, and mentoring. Let us share some stories from our moms:

“For me, it has been more than just a program to help me and my daughter gain material independence, it has been a place I have been able to go and seek comfort when life seemed too hard. A place I know where I am a person of worth and not just an organization which helps us obtain “things.” We are emotionally and spiritually well because of the persons who run the program and the connections with other people we have gained from being in the program.”

“I am now getting the help I need with my finances, parenting, relationships and so much more. My mentor family has shown me that relationships can work, and also shown my kids a loving family. My son always tells everyone that he has an extra family and how lucky he is.”

“I am learning a lot of things through the program. I especially learn during the meetings where I have other single moms with whom I can relate. I learn about budgeting, job searches, relationships, and parenting. Every day I work hard thinking about how and what I will do to help some people in the same situation as me in the future and I know I will.”

Our moms come from many different backgrounds ranging from domestic abuse, substance abuse, generational poverty, and various cultural backgrounds. Although the circumstances are different, one common thread for our moms is that none of them intended to be single parents. The M.O.M.S. program comes along side single moms and helps fill the gaps left by social service programs. Because lasting change takes time, we are a long term program, a mom can be part of our program for up to 3 years. Our moms learn how to achieve financial, vocational, and parenting goals in order to gain stability and self-sufficiency. Our mentors meet or talk with their moms weekly.
